Who we are

Daffodil Hill Growers represents the third generation of farming for the Blersch family. At a time when milk and eggs were delivered to homes each week my grandfather and great grandfather were chicken farmers. My grandfather moved the farm to our current location in Southbury in 1949 from Stratford. The farm in Southbury became known as Woodside Farm. The land was farmed until the early 90’s when my grandfather passed away.

With a background in floral design Daffodil Hill Growers was born. We began our journey six years ago by providing exquisite and unique florals to discriminating brides in Connecticut. We not only provide wedding florals but have now expanded into event florals. From something such as the perfect flowers for a small intimate dinner party to providing sumptuous decorations to a wedding with 400 guests, we are what you have been searching for! Our unique designs incorporate only the freshest materials, hand selected for your special occasion

We have expanded into offering unique plant materials, in 2004 we put up our first greenhouse, and slowly began restoring the property to be a working farm. A few years later we have added 2 more greenhouses. We have two divisions within the greenhouse, wholesale and retail. The wholesale division caters to small business owners. Daffodil Hill Growers appreciates that other wholesale growers are too large to accommodate the needs of the small business retailer and landscapers. We carry a selection of the highest quality annuals, perennials, ornamental grasses, vegetable plants, as well as kale and mums for the fall. Daffodil Hill Growers recognizes the needs of retailers to stand apart from the big box competition so we offer specialty items such as patio planters, living wreaths, and specialty hanging baskets.

In 2008 we began offering Connecticut grown farm fresh vegetables. We also began attending Farmer’s Markets to sell our vegetables and plant products. Coming for Spring 2009 we will open a farm store at our location in Southbury, come and buy your produce and plants straight from the grower.
